Job summary

A municipal government in Metro Vancouver is seeking a Junior File Clerk to assist with filing and organizing various documents. Duration: Auxiliary

Pay Rate: $24.28 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits (2024 Rates)

Schedule: Auxiliary assignments are based on operational requirements and do not provide guaranteed hours of work, which may include on-call shifts. For this position, we are looking for candidates with availability to work 1-2 shifts per week.

Responsibilities
  • File a variety of standard cards, forms, folders and reports to alphabetic, numeric or subject files when material to be filed has clear file indicators or codes.
  • Locate requested folders for filed material, complete and insert charge-out card.
  • Sort, separate, group, and/or collate material being processed for filing or forwarding according to well‑defined elementary procedures.
  • Copy information from files as requested,and obtain copies of correspondence and related items by elementary operation of automatic copying machine.
  • Stamp incoming mail; deliver and pick up files or material to be filed.
  • Perform related work as required.
Qualifications
  • Up to high school graduation, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience in filing, locating, sorting, and copying both hardcopy and electronic material.
  • Organized, methodical, and accurate.
  • Ability to perform work according to clearly defined methods and procedures.
  • Works well independently or under supervision and instruction.
  • Professional and courteous demeanor; welcoming to people at the Detachment.
  • Required to obtain and maintain an RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance.
