Job summary

Empire Envelope, a Qualico company in Edmonton, is seeking a Junior Estimator & Production Assistant to support residential divisions with job records, purchase orders and estimates.

You will review drawings, perform markups, assist with pricing, and coordinate with production teams. A construction estimating background and data-entry experience are valued. Office-based role with standard hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate or diploma in Construction Estimating, or equivalent experience, is an asset.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and construction documents.
• Minimum of 2 years of data entry experience, preferably with drywall or construction products.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and estimating-related systems, including Bluebeam Revu, SupplyPro, Plexxis and JobSchedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform Bluebeam Revu markups to identify quantities, take-offs, scope requirements and discrepancies.
• Review residential construction drawings and specs to determine project scope, materials, and cost implications.
• Evaluate purchase orders against drawings to identify inconsistencies and support change orders.
• Collaborate with Production Manager and teams to support scope-specific pricing, cost analysis and spec updates.
• Support estimating functions through pricing validation, cost tracking and coordination with the Estimator.
• Prepare material quantity calculations and cost estimates for drywall and paint, including material computations and price verification.
• Manage residential inbox communications with clients to obtain project information.
• Review and process POs and EPOs, update job records in JobSchedule and Plexxis, manage SupplyPro requests, and track billing updates.
• Create and enter new jobs for residential divisions in JobSchedule and Plexxis.
• Cross-train with Senior Estimator to learn estimating process and provide relief support.
• Assist production teams with entering sup pay invoices for residential divisions and paint production for relief purposes.

Job Overview

We are seeking a full-time Junior Estimator & Production Assistant in Edmonton. You will support residential divisions by creating and maintaining job records, purchase orders and estimates. You also assist with construction-related tasks, including reviewing drawings, completing markups, assisting with pricing and supporting accurate documentation, communication and coordination with production and construction teams.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Working Conditions
