Job summary

Egis Canada is hiring a Junior Environmental Scientist to join our team in Ontario. You will conduct Phase I/II environmental site assessments and remediation activities, perform sampling and reporting for excess soils projects, and contribute to hydrogeological assessments and major infrastructure projects across the province.

The successful candidate will travel as needed, work occasional nights and weekends, and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in environmental science, engineering, biology, geoscience or related field.
• Competency in fieldwork execution and sampling protocols; groundwater assessment knowledge is a plus.
• Excellent technical report writing, note-taking and regulatory compliance.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities; ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Phase I/II ESAs and Remediations to CSA and O. Reg. 153/04 standards.
• Conduct sampling and reporting for Excess Soils project (O.Reg. 406/19).
• Perform Hydrogeological Assessments including infiltration testing and groundwater sampling.
• Support major projects and nationwide infrastructure work; travel and occasional nights/weekends.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job Description

Our team is hiring a Junior Environmental Scientist to join our team.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Conduct Phase I/II ESAs and Remediations, both to CSA and O. Reg. 153/04 Standards;
• Conduct sampling and reporting associated with Excess Soils project (O.Reg. 406/19);
• Conduct fieldwork and reporting associated with Hydrogeological Assessments, including but not limited to infiltration testing, single-well response tests, and groundwater sampling;
• Perform fieldwork and reporting associated with major projects, including 'nation-builder' infrastructure jobs across the province;
• Travel and/or work nights and weekends occasionally, as required; and
• Perform other duties as may be required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in environmental science, engineering, biology, geoscience or a related field;
• Demonstrated competency in fieldwork execution. Knowledge of sampling protocols, groundwater assessment techniques, and infiltration testing considered an asset;
• Excellent technical report writing, note-taking, and documentation skills with attention to regulatory compliance;
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel;
• Strong communication andcoordination abilities; and
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in fast-paced environments.
