Job summary

DMC Mining Services in Thunder Bay, Ontario is seeking a Junior Designer, Process Controls to join our team on a permanent basis. You will work with Senior Designers and Engineers to design and draft control, automation, and instrumentation systems for mining projects.

This role supports PLC, HMI, DCS, and SCADA development, uses AutoCAD, and may require integration of communications networks. Hybrid work options from site and remote are available, with a strong emphasis on safety and

Qualifications

• Education in electrical engineering technology or equivalent.
• Ability and interest in developing and drafting drawings.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Strong team player with ability to coordinate with other disciplines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Revit and Navisworks is an asset.
• Experience with programming PLC, HMI, DCS, SCADA is an asset.
• Electrical design experience in underground mining is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Supports Senior Designers and Engineers with electrical design and drafting of control, automation, and instrumentation systems.
• Develops designs which may include PLC, HMI, DCS, and SCADA.
• Integrates communications into the systems such as Profibus, Modbus, Ethernet IP and Devicenet.
• Develops designs which will include various instrumentation to monitor pressure, flow, temperature, etc.
• Develops or designs various electrical, instrumentation and control drawings.
• Creates and maintains drawings using AutoCAD.
• Maintains electrical design data, documentation, and drawings.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.
