PENN. Penningtons, part of Reitmans (Canada) Limited, is evolving its fashion and inviting a Junior Fashion Designer to grow their career, share fresh ideas and contribute to the next chapter of PENN.

You’ll collaborate with the Design team, Merchandising and partners through trend research, sketches, fittings and final collection execution, in a hybrid environment that supports learning and growth. The role requires a college diploma or degree in Fashion Design, 1–3 years of experience, and

Qualifications

• College diploma or university degree in Fashion Design or related field.
• 1–3 years of fashion design experience, including internships or entry-level roles.
• Proficiency with Illustrator/Photoshop for sketches and design presentations.
• Strong sense of style, colour, fabrics and silhouettes.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of trend-driven collections.
• Stay on top of fashion trends and market developments to inspire seasonal collections.
• Create sketches, colour palettes and design packages that bring ideas to life.
• Contribute to fabric, print, trim and colour selection with attention to detail.
• Participate in fittings and collection reviews to develop understanding of fit and construction.
• Collaborate with Design, Merchandising and partners to bring concepts to final product.
• Incorporate feedback to refine designs and strengthen the final collection.

We're looking for a Junior Fashion Designer who's excited to grow their career, share fresh ideas and contribute to the next chapter of PENN.

You have an eye for trends, a passion for fashion and a natural curiosity about fabrics, silhouettes, colours and the details that make a difference. You love learning, collaborating and seeing your ideas come to life.

Working closely with our Design team, Merchandising and key partners, you'll be involved throughout the creative process, from trend research and initial sketches to fittings and final collection execution.

What You'll Do

• Support the design and development of fresh, trend-driven collections that reflect the PENN. brand and our customer's evolving style.
• Stay on top of fashion trends, market developments and consumer preferences to bring new ideas and inspiration to seasonal collections.
• Create sketches, garment concepts, colour palettes and design packages that bring creative ideas to life.
• Contribute to fabric, print, trim and colour selection, with an eye for the details that make each design stand out.
• Participate in fittings and collection reviews to develop your understanding of fit, proportion and garment construction.
• Collaborate closely with Design, Merchandising and key partners to bring collections from initial concept to final product.
• Incorporate feedback to refine designs and strengthen the final collection.
• Stay curious about emerging trends and customer needs, contributing ideas that keep our collections fresh and relevant.

What You Bring

• A college diploma or university degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in fashion design, including internships or entry-level roles.
• A passion for fashion and a strong sense of style, colour, fabrics and silhouettes.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for creating sketches and design presentations.
• Experience using AI-powered creative tools for trend research, concept development and design presentations, with the ability to integrate these tools into the design process.
• A foundational understanding of garment fit, proportions and construction, with a willingness to continue learning.
• Creativity, curiosity, a collaborative mindset and strong attention to detail.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingualism in French and English, as the role involves regular communication with partners outside Quebec.
