Job Title: Marketing Specialist, Content & Creation

Location: Vancouver

Department: Marketing

Reports to: Director, Social Media & Communications

Role Status: Full time permanent.

The Role

The Content & Creation role is pivotal in the Northland Properties restaurants & hotels ability to tell their stories as our company continues to grow. They will be working on exciting brands such as Moxies, Sandman Hotel Group, The Sutton Place Hotels, Denny’s Canada, Chop Steakhouse & Bar, Shark Club, Bar One and more. We are looking for a detail oriented, confident, positive, and enthusiastic individual who loves Social Media, photography, videography, editing, and storytelling online. Reporting to the Director of Social Media & Communications, this person is a creative with a demonstrated ability to successfully develop and deliver effective content. They will be adept at prioritizing swiftly and effectively, shifting gears to manage multiple projects, and they understand social media trends and how to quickly create a high volume of pieces that resonate with viewers. They have the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and can function at a high level within a complex fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Brainstorm innovative and on-trend ways of increasing & enhancing the brands’ social media presence across all social platforms.
  • Stay up to date on social media platform algorithms.
  • Consistently research new trends and techniques to create interesting content that earns impressions and engagement.
  • Ability to work independently on brand shoots to capture and edit photos/videos
  • Develop create concepts and plan, organize, and execute campaign creative ideas.
  • Ability to quickly plan and create high quality and interesting content in Hi-fi and Lo-fi.
  • Have a clear vision of the brands including narrative, tone, look & feel. Ensure that content adheres to the respective tone and style of each account.
  • Ensure that content is engaging to the potential guest for each brand account and modify tactics after reviewing data and analytics to optimize impressions and engagement.
  • Organize resources for content creation
  • Collaborate with brands and leaders in the Social Media Team on campaigns, content, and strategy.
  • Ability to create graphics for brands.
  • Create internal corporate content with existing assets.
  • Assist content creation team with project backlog when required.
  • Comfortable with travelling for projects.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in social media, photography and videography.
  • Gifted eye for social media trends that will resonate and the ability to reproduce them quickly.
  • Ability to use graphic design for content.
  • Skilled in photography and videography (Commercial, real estate, hospitality or related) and UGC video (Instagram, Tiktok)
  • Proficient knowledge in using professional photo/video equipment.
  • Proficient in using Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent programs.
  • Knowledgeable in using Davinci Resolve or equivalent editing programs.
  • Exceptional grasp of the English language and excellent written communication skills that provide the ability to tailor content to appropriately match the audience and brand voice.
  • Highly adaptable to rapidly-changing situations and an ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and can function at a high level within a complex fast paced environment.
  • Portfolio available for review.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to network and build strong internal and external relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizing, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
