A leading recruitment agency is seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to assist with day-to-day accounting tasks, such as journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting in Edmonton, Canada. Qualifications

Junior Accountant

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to support the financial operations. This role is responsible for performing day-to-day accounting tasks including journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities. The successful candidate will be organized, communicative, and attentive to detail.

Your success will be defined by your ability to :
  • Post journal entries for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reconcile balance sheets and bank accounts
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records
  • Review documents for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
  • Develop and maintain internal control procedures, including inventory management
  • Complete financial reports and trend analyses for internal stakeholders
  • Assist with year-end reviews, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Support other accounting-related tasks as needed
Your strengths include :
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting or a related field
  • Pursuing CPA designation (an asset, not required)
  • Minimum 6 months of accounting or related experience (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with accounting software
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume environments
  • Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to team success
