Junior Accountant
ABOUT BEVO FARMS LTD.

Bevo Farms Ltd is the largest supplier of propagated plants in North America, providing greenhouses, field farms, nurseries, and wholesalers across the continent with healthy, vigorous, pest-and-disease-free plants. Bevo Farms Ltd operates three sites in the lower mainland of British Columbia and two facilities in the province of Alberta.

SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant with a focus on Accounts Receivable to join our dynamic team. The position is for 18 months term. This role will be responsible for assisting with accounts receivable, as well as general administrative and accounting duties that will ensure the smooth running of the accounting department. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail. This role will report directly to an Accounting Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Data entry for accounts receivable
  • Verify accuracy of invoices and other supporting documentation
  • Verifying and ensuring intercompany invoices are coded to correct entity for segment reporting
  • Perform 3-way invoice matching and investigate discrepancies
  • Respond to vendor inquires and resolve any issues or discrepancies promptly
  • Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve vendor-related concerns
  • Assist in month, quarter and year end closing activities including audit requests
  • Supporting month end journal entries and reconciliation
  • Other administrative duties including answering incoming calls and other duties as required
REQUIRED SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable/bookkeeping
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
  • Experience working with ERP software
  • Proficient in Office 365 applications
  • Currently enrolled in CPA
  • Be a demonstrated self-starter with the ability to learn quickly and work efficiently within tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and uphold company codes of conduct
SECONDARY SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics NAV software
  • Experience in agriculture and/or greenhouse operations
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in business (or related field) would be considered an asset
MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS
  • Legally permitted to work in Canada
  • Must possess own transportation
