Working closely with the Senior Accountant and Finance team, you’ll be responsible for completing routine accounting tasks accurately and on time while also supporting broader financial activities such as month-end and year-end close, reporting, analysis, audits, and tax preparation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations and assist with resolving discrepancies.
  • Prepare balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations and assist with routine journal entries.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities by preparing reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports, financial statements, and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with basic financial analysis, including reviewing variances, expenses, and account activity.
  • Assist with the preparation of sales tax returns, including GST/HST, PST, and QST.
  • Assist with Canadian and U.S. payroll processing using ADP Workforce Now and ADP RUN, including timesheet verification, payroll inputs, deductions, and routine payroll administration.
  • Prepare payroll reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting documentation, and provide payroll coverage when required.
  • Support audit and year-end activities by gathering documentation, preparing schedules, and responding to information requests.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records, follow established accounting procedures and internal controls, and perform other accounting and financial duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in accounting, payroll, business administration, or equivalent experience
  • Experience preparing bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations

  • Working knowledge of payroll legislation and CRA remittance requirements; PCP (Payroll Compliance Professional) designation an asset
  • Experience with ADP and/or QuickBooks payroll platforms is strongly preferred; proficiency with Microsoft Excel required
  • Experience with expense tracking software Dext is an asset
  • Strong attention to detail, discretion with confidential information, and ability to meet firm deadlines
What Success Looks Like?
  • You’re the person who helps keep the day-to-day accounting work accurate and on track.

Reconciliations are completed on time, supporting documents are easy to follow, and you take the time to investigate when something doesn’t look right. You’re comfortable working across multiple priorities, including month-end tasks, financial reporting, payroll, and tax-related activities.
  • You’re eager to learn. You ask questions, take ownership of your work, and build your accounting knowledge over time.
  • Success in this role is about being accurate, reliable, and willing to learn while providing the day-to-day accounting support that keeps the finance function running smoothly.
