Job summary

Element Cambridge is seeking a Jr. Metallurgist to perform routine metallurgical, mechanical and corrosion testing to support operations at the site or in the laboratory. The role requires a degree or diploma in metallurgy and 2–4 years of lab experience, with strong report writing and communication skills. The position offers growth within a global testing network and is based in Cambridge, Canada.

Pay range is CAD 24–26 per hour. Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Metallurgy or related discipline.
  • 2–4 years of lab/metallurgy testing experience.
  • Good knowledge of international standards and codes.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, team player with good organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Hardness testing, sample prep, and metallurgical testing (micro/macro).
  • Involvement in site and field testing.
  • Ensure work complies with ISO 17025 requirements.
  • Coordinate with technicians to follow the planning schedule.

Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Jr. Metallurgist whose primary responsibility is to perform routine, metallurgical, mechanical, failure, corrosion testing facilitating metallurgy operations at site or at a laboratory.

Element Cambridge is afull-service materials testinglaboratory offering advanced capabilities in corrosion testing, chemical analysis, mechanical testing, stress rupture, metallurgical analysis, and failure investigation.

Pay range: $24-26/hr CAD

Responsibilities
  • Hardness testing, sample prep and report writing and metallurgical testing (micro / macro examinations)
  • Involvement in site / field testing
  • Ensure work compliance to ISO 17025 requirements
  • Coordinating with the technicians in the team to carry out work as per the planning schedule
Skills / Qualifications
  • Degree/Diploma in Metallurgy or related discipline
  • 2-4 years of experience working in a laboratory in the field of metallurgy testing
