Job summary

North America Construction (1993) Ltd. – NAC Constructors Ltd. (NAC) seeks a Journeyperson Plumber or Pipefitter to lay out, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair piping systems on heavy construction projects in Ontario.

Under the Mechanical Superintendent you will apply expertise with PVC piping and metal systems while focusing on safety and workmanship. The role requires certification and field experience, ability to read blueprints, and independence on site.

Qualifications

• Certified Plumber and/or Pipefitter required.
• 2+ years in heavy construction preferred.
• Experience with PVC piping and large bore piping.
• Knowledge of safety and WHMIS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Install 6" and 10" PVC SDR 35 storm sewer piping.
• Experience with cast iron, copper and boiler installations.
• Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications with sewing tools.
• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings and equipment per specs.
• Inspect, test installed systems and pipe lines.
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
• Layout full scale drawings of pipe systems per blueprints.
• Plan pipe system layout and installation according to specs.
• Select pipe sizes and materials per specifications.
• Cut and bore holes in structures for pipe installation.
• Modify and maintain pipe systems and equipment per specs.
• Remove and replace worn components.
• Inspect sites for obstructions and structural safety.
