Journeyperson Mechanic (Full-Time)

You're a Journeyperson mechanic who thrives on challenge – the kind that comes with keeping heavy machinery running flawlessly through mountain passes and coastal routes. This is where your hands-on skill and sharp mind are essential, tackling complex diagnostics and precision maintenance to keep vital transit rolling.

What You’ll Do:

  • Diagnose and repair vehicles using diagnostic tools to identify issues and perform necessary repairs, maintenance, and part replacements. Operate buses for testing and diagnostics as needed.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance, including CVIP inspections. Maintain accurate service records and manage parts procurement.
  • Collaborate with technicians, management, and drivers to meet shop priorities and schedules. Follow all safety, environmental, and HR procedures in line with OH&S and inspection standards.
  • Keep a clean, safe workspace and communicate effectively with the team. Support apprentice training, suggest training needs, and attend required company programs.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Journeyman Technician Certification (Commercial Transport or Heavy Duty Automotive may be considered with Air Brake Endorsement)
  • A CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) License or willingness to obtain during employment is required
  • 2–5 years of related experience, including exposure to working as a Journeyperson Mechanic
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license with an air brake endorsement, and no more than 3 demerit points on your record.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent Health & Safety Knowledge, particularly OH&S rules and regulations guidelines, with a keen eye for detail
  • Employment is contingent upon receiving a favorable background check and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening

Bonus Points if You Have:

  • Prior experience maintaining transit vehicles or a large fleet is an asset
  • Experience with Work Order Management Applications is considered an asset

Salary Range: $46 - $50/hr depending on experience and qualifications
