Overview

Immediate opening for Journeyman Plumber

About us: Broadway Refrigeration & Air Conditioning are leaders in the design, installation, and service of multi-unit residential and commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing and refrigeration systems. Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair hydronic heating and cooling systems (e.g. boilers, radiant floor heat, fan coils, etc.)
  • Service boilers: perform inspections, start-ups, burner tuning, combustion analysis, safety & control checks
  • Install, maintain, or repair pumps, valves, pressure reducing valves, expansion tanks, sensors, and controllers
  • Work on domestic water lines: routing, connections, fittings, leak repair, etc.
  • Interpret and work from mechanical drawings, schematics, blueprints and specifications
  • Perform system balancing, pressure / flow testing, and troubleshooting
  • Perform preventive maintenance to ensure systems are operating efficiently and safely
  • Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and communicate clearly with management and clients
  • Clean and organize work area after job completion
  • Respond to emergency service calls if required (overtime / on-call duties may apply)
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Journeyperson plumber; additional hydronic / HVAC certification is a strong advantage
  • Several years (e.g. 3-5+) experience in hydronic heating & cooling system work, boiler service, and pump systems
  • Proficiency in working with pumps, valves, pressure reducing valves, control systems, sensors, thermostats
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, plumbing / mechanical schematics
  • Solid troubleshooting skills; ability to diagnose system issues logically
  • Familiarity with local plumbing / mechanical codes and safety regulations
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Good physical fitness: ability to lift, climb, bend, work in tight or elevated mechanical rooms
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; reliability and professionalism
  • Willingness to learn and to keep up to date with new technologies and techniques in hydronics
