Position Overview

Join our Power Systems Team today! In this role you will have the opportunity to travel throughout Alberta and NWT (multiple stationary roles also available), where you will get the opportunity to repair, troubleshoot, overhaul, and maintain CAT Power Systems product.

Location and Shift

Location: various locations in Alberta

Shift: Monday to Friday, 7x7 or 14x14 depending on location

Compensation & Wellness Perks
  • $50.68 - $55.51 / hr (base rate)
  • Hourly premiums available
  • Continuous shift: $3.50/hr
  • Night shift: $3.50/hr
  • Field: $2.25/hr

Job Description

Major Job Functions:

  • Responsible for the maintenance and overhaul work in the EPG industry
  • Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs, maintenance and overhauls on natural gas and diesel engines, compressors, generators and attachments.
  • Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
  • Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team.
  • Work with the Service Supervisor and Lead H and on various tasks as required .
Qualifications
  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification (or Electrical)
  • Power Systems experience, must be capable and confident troubleshooting mechanically governed fuel delivery systems
  • Valid driver's license with a successful recent driver abstract
  • Previous Caterpillar experience
  • Willingness to participate and complete additional training
  • Self-motivated, computer literate, and safety orientated with the ability to work under minimal supervision

  • A condition of employment is the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable
  • Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement.
