Job summary

Boardwalk in Calgary is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to install, service, and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in our residential and commercial units. You will work on furnaces, heat pumps, MUA, rooftop units, and refrigeration equipment, performing inspections, adjustments, and required repairs.

We require a valid Journeyman HVAC certificate (Red Seal a plus), 3–5 years of experience, and the ability to lift up to 90 kg.

Qualifications

• Valid Journeyman Certificate in HVAC (Red Seal is an asset).
• Experience on units above 5 tons.
• 3–5 years residential/commercial HVAC experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper maintenance and service furnaces.
• Repair/replace furnaces as required.
• Exhaust fan repair and service.
• New capital refrigeration installations.
• Maintain and service MUA, rooftop and refrigeration units.
• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments on HVAC control systems.
• Maintain proper records of inspections.
• Complete all required paperwork and other tasks as assigned.

Experience And Educational Requirements

• Valid Journeyman Certificate as an HVAC Technician, Red Seal is an asset
• Able to work on units up and above 5 tons
• 3 to 5 years residential / commercial experience required

Technical Requirements

• Experience installing and doing service work and troubleshooting on heat pumps
• Previous experience doing inspections on heating and domestic hot water boilers
• Working knowledge of English language both verbal and written
• Familiarity with computer tablets is an asset

Non-Technical Requirements

• Ability to spend up to eight hours walking, standing, climbing stairs, lifting
• Ability to maneuver up to 90kg with the proper equipment
• Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service
• Ability to take responsibility for all actions and decisions and to follow through until a resolution is obtained
• Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
• Excellent time-management skills
• Ability to work independently (self-managed) and with other Associates in a team environment
• Demonstrates a positive attitude and enthusiasm
