Job description

Thompson Construction Group has an immediate opening for a certified Heavy Duty Mechanic working from our Fort McMurray area of operations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance
  • Diagnose and repair equipment deficiencies
  • Communicate with site supervisor to coordinate maintenance priorities
  • Maintain maintenance records
  • Promote safety awareness by ensuring compliance of corporate health and safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
  • Heavy Equipment Technician (Off Road) – Journeyman (Red Seal) Certified
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with CAT, John Deere and Hitachi equipment
  • Minimum 5 years in Heavy Civil Earthworks Construction and / or Infrastructure
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Valid Class 5 operators license, but not limited to (candidate to provide current abstract)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to work in the Fort McMurray area and live in remote camps, working a rotational schedule
  • CSTS / OSSA, BSO or CSO Certification
  • Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned
  • Must be able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test
