Shermco Canada is seeking safety-focused Journeyperson Electricians for project-based opportunities at a worksite in Saskatchewan. Candidates from Western Canada who can travel and work rotational schedules are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

  • Red Seal endorsement or Interprovincial Journeyperson Electrician certification.
  • 2–5 years utility/industrial electrical experience preferred.
  • Experience operating skid steers, telehandlers, or aerial work platforms is an asset.
  • Commitment to safety and able to work shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform utility construction, maintenance, alterations and repairs (greenfield/brownfield).
  • Work safely around energized power and control equipment.
  • Interpret drawings and specs to determine materials and installation methods.
  • Complete installations per Canadian Electrical Code and Shermco standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of construction, maintenance, inspection and quality.
  • Mentor apprentices and team members for safety and quality outcomes.
  • Participate in field audits, safety reporting and leading-indicator activities.
  • Perform duties to the standard of a Journeyperson Electrician.
  • Comply with Shermco safety policies and project requirements.

Project-Based - Saskatchewan - Candidates across Western Canada

About the Opportunity

Shermco Canada is seeking safety-focused Journeyperson Electricians - Utilities for project-based opportunities at a worksite in Saskatchewan.

We welcome qualified candidates from across Western Canada who are comfortable travelling to the project site and working rotational schedules. This opportunity is well suited to experienced electricians with utility construction, maintenance, or industrial experience who value safety, teamwork, and high-quality workmanship.

Shermco’s Electrical Services team delivers electrical construction, maintenance, testing, and specialty solutions to clients across the utility, mining, oil and gas, technology, and industrial sectors.

Responsibilities
  • Perform utility construction, maintenance, alterations, and repairs, including:
    • Greenfield and brownfield utility construction
    • Oil-filled circuit breaker replacements
    • Switch construction and maintenance
    • Utility relay replacements
  • Work safely in utility and industrial environments, including around energized power and control equipment.
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and work requirements to determine appropriate materials and installation methods.
  • Complete installations in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code, project specifications, and Shermco safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate construction, maintenance, inspection, and quality documentation.
  • Mentor and coach apprentices and other team members to support safe, efficient, and high-quality work.
  • Participate in field audits, inspections, proactive safety reporting, and leading-indicator activities.
  • Perform all duties to the standard expected of a qualified Journeyperson Electrician.
  • Comply with Shermco’s alcohol and drug policy and all project-specific safety requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Red Seal endorsement or recognized Interprovincial Journeyperson Electrician certification
  • Two to five years of utility or industrial electrical experience is preferred
  • Experience operating equipment such as skid steers, telehandlers, and aerial work platforms is an asset
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Valid driver’s licence and acceptable driver’s abstract
  • Ability and willingness to travel to the Saskatchewan project site and work assigned rotational schedules
  • Ability to work extended shifts and meet the physical requirements of field-based electrical work
