Job summary

Switch It Up Inc. is a Calgary-based electrical contractor seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team for residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will pursue high-quality workmanship, prioritize safety, and maintain professionalism on site.

Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, installing and maintaining electrical systems, and ensuring code compliance. Fire alarm installation experience is a valued asset; a valid driver’s license is preferred to support

Qualifications

• Valid Journeyman Electrician certificate.
• Experience in commercial and residential electrical installations.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Fire alarm installation or service experience is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.

Position Overview

Switch It Up is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in both commercial and residential electrical work, with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism. Experience with fire alarm systems is considered a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential and commercial environments
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement effective solutions
• Install and service lighting, panels, wiring, and related electrical components
• Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes and safety standards
• Work independently or as part of a team to complete projects on schedule
• Assist with fire alarm installations and maintenance (experience considered an asset)
