Job summary

Chandos Construction Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Carpenter to construct and maintain buildings on-site in Canada. The role requires proficiency in doors, windows, stairs, formwork, blueprint reading, and materials estimates, with knowledge of safety, quality control, and cost control.

A large general contracting background is preferred, along with a valid driver’s license. We are a 100% employee-owned company that values inclusion, diversity and collaboration.

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred.

Responsibilities

• Constructing and maintaining buildings as a Journeyman Carpenter.
• Knowledge of construction/remodeling trades, practices, procedures, tools and equipment, materials, specs, quality and safety.
• Proficient at hanging doors, drilling and setting door hardware, setting windows, stairs layout, formwork, reading blueprints, and estimating material quantities.

Job Description

The Journeyman Carpenter is responsible for constructing and maintaining buildings.

Required knowledge includes: construction and remodeling trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, cost control and safety.

The Journeyman Carpenter must be proficient at the following tasks: hanging doors, drilling and setting door hardware, setting windows, layout for stairs and common rafters, formwork, and reading blueprints. The carpenter must also possess the mathematical and analytical skills necessary to do materials estimates.

Qualifications

• Experienced with a large general contractor
• Valid drivers license and clean drivers abstract preferred
