Job summary

Superior Auto Repair in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is seeking a Journeyman Automotive Service Technician to join a locally operated shop within the RIIDE Holdings group. The role focuses on diagnosing, inspecting, and repairing passenger and light-duty commercial vehicles, using modern diagnostic equipment and a thorough, methodical approach.

You will perform maintenance, inspections, and coordinate with the Service Manager and other technicians to keep operations efficient.

Qualifications

• Journeyman certification required; Red Seal preferred.
• Proven diagnostic and repair capabilities on vehicles.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, inspect, maintain, and repair passenger and light-duty commercial vehicles.
• Independently troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems with diagnostic tools.
• Perform maintenance and inspections per manufacturer recommendations.
• Conduct SGI vehicle inspections and document findings and recommendations.
• Prepare clear repair orders with findings and proposed work.
• Collaborate with Service Manager and technicians to keep shop operations efficient.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow safety rules.
• Adhere to company standards and procedures.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Compensation: $38.00–$40.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience

We are currently seeking an experienced, certified Journeyman Automotive Service Technician to join our team.

The ideal candidate is a skilled, dependable professional with strong diagnostic abilities, extensive mechanical repair experience, and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can operate independently, and contributes positively to a collaborative shop environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and inspect all aspects of maintain, and repair for passenger vehicles and light-duty commercial vehicles.
• Independently troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems using modern diagnostic equipment.
• Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance, including oil changes, fluid services, inspections, and manufacturer-recommended maintenance.
• Conduct comprehensive SGI vehicle inspections, identify required repairs, and provide accurate recommendations.
• Complete accurate and detailed repair orders, documenting diagnostic findings, work performed, and recommended repairs.
• Work collaboratively with the Service Manager, Shop Foreman, and other technicians to maintain efficient shop operations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
• Follow workplace safety regulations, manufacturer procedures, and company standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Journeyman Automotive Service Technician certification required. Red Seal endorsement preferred.
• Certified SGI vehicle inspection certificate
• Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Ability to independently diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional, team-oriented attitude.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Experience working with commercial fleets is considered an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly Wage: $38.00–$40.00

Compensation is based on qualifications and experience.
