Are you an Artstrek alumnus who is fun-loving and a great team player? Are you a creative problem-solver who wants to help the next generation of Alberta theatre artists shine? If the answer is yes, Theatre Alberta is looking for YOU!

Artstrek Supervisors (Supers) are the backbone of the Artstrek student experience. They are responsible for ensuring that our students’ needs are met around the clock, and curating and delivering extracurricular programming to engage students socially and artistically outside of class time.

ARTSTREK SUPERVISORS ARE:

  • Alumni of Artstrek
  • Clear and level-headed communicators
  • Energetic leaders with remarkable work ethic
  • Indispensable teammates ready to jump into action at a moment’s notice
  • Eager to share what they have learned since their time at Artstrek
  • Experienced working with youth/teens
  • Between the ages of 20 and 28
  • Super duper fun with a great sense of humour!

ABOUT THE POSITION:

  • Artstrek Supervisors will be contracted July 6 – 25, 2026, to work at Red Deer Polytechnic
  • Supers are provided shared accommodation on campus and daily meals for the duration of the contract
  • Days at Artstrek are long, typically starting at 7:30 am and concluding at 10:30 pm
  • Supervisors’ work is guided by the Artstrek Administrative Director and the Senior Supervisors (Super‑Supers)
  • Supervisors arrive one week prior to the students, and work together to develop activities and procedures that ensure our students (and staff!) remain safe, engaged, and happy
  • Supervisors have the opportunity to learn and engage in theatrical practice alongside our team of instructors
  • Anticipated honorarium of $3,000, pending confirmation of funding
  • Successful applicants will need to provide, at their own expense, a Police Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Search by June 2026

TO APPLY:

  • Provide a PDF cover letter that lets us know which year(s) you attended Artstrek; outlines your qualifications and experience working with youth/teens; and speaks to what would make you an asset to the Super team
  • Provide a PDF resume that highlights your theatre/arts, education, and employment experience
  • Provide any recent photograph of yourself (simply to help us remember you!)
  • If you’d prefer to submit a video or audio application (approximately five minutes), please reach out to Andrew in advance of the deadline
