Job summary

A local performing arts company in Lethbridge is seeking two full-time Production Assistants for summer programming. Working closely with the Artistic and Technical Directors, candidates will assist in set construction, installation, and production-related tasks. Applicants must have post-secondary training in live entertainment or relevant experience. The role supports a diverse and inclusive workplace for various identities.

Job description
Job (Lethbridge): Production Assistant – New West Theatre

New West Theatre is now accepting applications for two full‑time, short‑term positions of Production Assistant. This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program; all applicants must be between 15 and 30 years of age.

Position 1
Start Date: June 26
End Date: August 13
Rate of Pay: $16 / hour

Position 2
Start Date: July 17
End Date: September 3
Rate of Pay: $16 / hour

The Production Assistant will work closely with the Artistic Director and Technical Director in the delivery of New West Theatre summer programming.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with set construction and painting.
  • Assisting with set installation and take down.
  • Coordinating props.
  • Coordination and setup of portable sound systems.
  • Production support for education programs.
  • Other duties as required.

All applicants will have completed some post‑secondary training in the live entertainment industry or have equivalent work experience in the sector. A valid driver’s license and vehicle is beneficial.
