Job summary

A renowned performing arts program in Calgary is seeking an experienced Dance Teacher to inspire young performers aged 6 to 15. Responsibilities include teaching dance fundamentals, creating choreography, and ensuring proper techniques. Classes will be held on Saturdays during a 10-week term starting September 11, 2021.

Job description

StageCoach Theatre Arts, the world’s longest running and most successful performing arts program for children, is looking for a Dance Teacher to join our Calgary Team.

Our aim at StageCoach is to nurture and develop young potential and confidence through singing, acting and dance classes, stretching young imaginations and building confidence.

All potential applicants must commit to a 10‑week term running on Saturdays.

We are excited to return for the FALL 2021 Term, which will run from Sept.–Nov 2021. Our classes run on Saturday mornings and afternoons and we are looking to hire a few good teachers.

We have proper protocols in place to adhere to all Government Guidelines regarding the pandemic.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE
EARLY STAGES ASSISTANT

We are looking for a teacher assistant for our Early Stages Program. The successful applicant will have experience with children ages 4‑6 years with experience and knowledge of musical theatre. They must possess a love of stories, have good storytelling skills, and be imaginative, honest, reliable, and professional.

ACTING TEACHER

We are looking for an outgoing person who has experience in theatre and working with children aged 6‑15. This person should possess strong drama fundamentals, and a passion for sharing your craft with the next generation of performers. The successful applicant must be comfortable blocking scenes; role‑play; improv; have a vast knowledge of drama games; comfortable creating characters with the students. Familiarity with Musical Theatre is an asset but not necessary.

SINGING TEACHER

We are looking for an outgoing person who has experience in musical theatre and working with children aged 6‑15. This person should possess strong singing fundamentals, and a passion for sharing your craft with the next generation of performers. The successful applicant must be comfortable in vocal music; teaching singing as a group/part singing/harmonizing and musical theatre with the students.

DANCE TEACHER

We are looking for an outgoing person who has experience in dance and working with children aged 6‑15. This person should possess strong dance fundamentals, and a passion for sharing your craft with the next generation of performers. The successful applicant must be comfortable creating choreography for performance; teach control, balance, and proper body alignment; have a vast knowledge of dance style; comfortable teaching proper technique with the students. Familiarity with musical theatre is an asset but not necessary.
