Job summary

Ampstek is seeking a skilled backend engineer to join our team for a 12+ months contract in Canada, onsite in Toronto or Vancouver. You will design and implement Java-based microservices, RESTful endpoints, and data-intensive APIs to serve analytics consumers.

Required Skills

• Strong hands‑on experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Understanding of Microservices architecture.
• Experience designing and building RESTful API endpoints.
• Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture patterns.
• Experience building APIs that serve analytics consumers — aggregations, filtering, and performant query patterns.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD tools.
• Good debugging and performance tuning skills.
• Good understanding of SQL and database concepts.
• Basic understanding of PySpark or Spark SQL.
• Exposure to data engineering or ETL processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or microservices deployment.
