Role

Chef de Partie

Responsibilities
  • Supervise preparation and service of all food items for a la carte and buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standards.
  • Oversee first cook, second cook, and general cook in the kitchen area.
  • Lead a team to produce the highest quality of food preparation and presentation.
  • Maintain proper rotation of product in all chillers to minimize wastage/spoilage.
  • Maintain a working environment where creativity, continuous improvement, and constructive criticism are the standard.
  • Seek opportunities to increase food revenue and decrease kitchen expense and maximize departmental productivity without compromising guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years well‑rounded experience in a 4 or 5 star hotel or reputable restaurant.
  • Valid Journeypersons’ papers or equivalent required.
  • Diploma or equivalent certification to a culinary program required.
  • Successful completion of Alberta’s Food Handler Certification.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Valid Alberta driver’s license required.
  • Excellent knife skills and safe handling required.

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
