Reports To: Human Resources Manager

The Staff Accommodations Supervisor is the front-line contact for all employee’s and tenants residing in RMSI-JTAC (Ski Marmot Basin) owned or leased housing units, as well as the staff accommodations for the Jasper Riding Stables. The incumbent corresponds with prospective tenants, plans their arrival, checks them in, deals with tenant concerns and lease infractions, and handles check-outs. They conduct regular inspections of properties, addressing deficiencies and emergencies as required.

This is a full-time, year-round role with RMSI-JTAC (Ski Marmot Basin), including the Jasper Riding Stables. The incumbent must work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and remain on call with a company cellphone.

Alberta Employment Standards regarding probationary periods apply.

Private housing and a company vehicle (for work use only) are available for the successful candidate.

Job Duties / Responsibilities
  • Prior to a move-in ensure all accommodations are cleaned, furniture is adequate, and nothing is broken.
  • Organize staff arrivals with the Human Resources Department and incoming staff; move-in season can start as early as mid-September and typically ends in mid-December.
  • Pick-up new employees at bus, train, or other scheduled place at various hours of the day and evening; move them into their allotted accommodation.
  • Organize cleaning of all accommodations when required and supervise a team of cleaners.
  • Attend to maintenance and repairs needed at residences, including removal of broken items and trash to the transfer station; outsource to contractors as required with collaboration from Maintenance team.
  • Continuously monitor yard work and snow removal.
  • Complete all documentation (rental agreement, inspection report, rules & regulations, resident fire safety, etc.) for The Company and tenants.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the accommodations.
  • Ensure that residences have utilities under the proper name (landlord or RMSI-JTAC as requested).
  • Work directly with the Finance team to ensure incoming corporate leases are signed, filed, and paid on time.
  • Place orders as required for furniture, kitchen gadgets, cleaning supplies, etc.
  • Communicate directly with corporate landlords to secure and release seasonally rented units.
  • Conduct yearly inspections of all properties as required (furnace, water heater, structure, furniture and appliances) with members of Management.
  • Manage and document Rental Deductions, Rental Charges, Rent Arrears, Damage Deposit Accrual and Refunds.
  • Arrange for hostel or hotel stays as required.
  • Work with the Transportation team to assist with needs such a debris removal, mail delivery, and tenant relocations.
  • Organize and complete the move-out & unit release season for all tenants and corporate leases.
  • Prepare for summer leases including company tenants in town and at the Stables, as well as corporate leases who will rent the Company’s rooms/homes.
  • Assist as required with the re-build of Company units, including placing orders for and setting up furniture.
  • Regularly check on deliveries at the post office and ensure anything for the department is properly delivered and set up in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with tenants, landlords, tour operators, and colleagues regularly via text, call, email.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License with Clear Driving Abstract.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Computer proficiency is vital, especially with Outlook and Excel.
  • Demonstrated Conflict Management skills.
  • Ability to work as a team player as well as collaborate with third parties and contractors.
  • The desire and ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Understanding of the ski industry and seasonal cycle of accommodations.
  • Patience when working with a wide age range of tenants.
  • Flexibility to work a fluctuating schedule.
  • Ability to enforce professional boundaries in a small town when acting as a Supervisor and Landlord for 150+ tenants.
  • Knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act of Alberta is an asset.
