Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in a nonprofit or charity setting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Understanding of nonprofit financial management, including fund accounting.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of CRA (Canada) compliance for charities is an asset.
  • Certification in bookkeeping, accounting, or related field preferred.

  • Reconcile bank statements, donor contributions, and other financial transactions.
  • Prepare financial reports for management, board meetings, and funders.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial projections.

  • Record and track restricted and unrestricted funds.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits.
  • Manage expense tracking and reimbursements.

Jasper AB Community Team Society Bookkeeper

The Jasper Community Team Society (JCTS) is seeking qualified individuals to fulfill the role of Bookkeeper. Established in 2004, JCTS is a community organization in Jasper, Alberta focused on raising funds to assist individuals and families facing barriers to well-being, supporting community programs, and promoting community well-being. Since the wildfire in July 2024, the scope of JCTS has expanded to include helping the community recover from the impacts of the fire, and JCTS is looking for reliable and professional bookkeeping services.

Position details:

  • Key Responsibilities
