What We Look For In a Japanese Tutor

• Advanced Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of Japanese hiragana, katakana, and kanji writing systems, grammar structures including particles, verb conjugations, honorific language (keigo), sentence patterns, vocabulary acquisition, listening comprehension, and cultural context. • Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with Japanese language curricula and JLPT levels, and common challenges such as memorizing kanji, mastering particle usage, and distinguishing formality levels. Adapts instruction using spaced repetition for character study, authentic Japanese media, and conversational role‑play to support learners from absolute beginners through advanced students preparing for proficiency certifications or study abroad.
• Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
