Job summary

Accuracy and consistency are critical as you work with complex layouts including vertical text and multi-column pages. Applicants should have experience in transcription or editorial tasks and be comfortable handling handwritten or mixed-script materials.

Qualifications

• Native Japanese speaker with full command of kanji, hiragana and katakana.
• Experience in interpretation, transcription, translation, editorial work, or similar document-intensive tasks.
• Excellent accuracy with strict character-level attention.

Responsibilities

• Source publicly accessible Japanese PDFs for annotation tasks.
• Annotate structure by identifying and bounding page regions with types and reading order indices.
• Record relationships between regions and parent figures/tables.
• Transcribe faithfully, including kanji, kana, furigana, and handwritten content.
