A local First Nation community in Ontario is seeking Janitors to maintain cleanliness and hygiene of community buildings. Responsibilities include cleaning, reporting maintenance needs, and ensuring a safe environment for all. The ideal candidate will have previous janitorial experience and communication skills, with preference given to those familiar with the community. The Janitors will report to and work under the supervision of the Community Complex Supervisor.
The Janitors will perform essential cleaning and maintenance duties to ensure that all MFN community buildings remain clean, hygienic, and well‑maintained. This role will focus on providing a safe and healthy environment for all visitors, staff, and residents by performing regular cleaning tasks, disinfecting surfaces, and maintaining cleanliness in common areas, offices, restrooms, and other facilities. The Janitors will also be responsible for identifying maintenance needs and reporting any issues to the Community Complex Supervisor.
M’Chigeeng First Nation and its agents are in a position of trust in services to band member children and/or vulnerable adults, so a safe and secure working environment is mandatory. Applicants must provide a VSS clear and/or dated of any convictions relating to sexual interference, sexual assault, or related charges. The VSS must be current 30‑days and must be an original.
