Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of 4 janitors.
  • Develop cleaning schedules and ensure adherence.

  • Train staff on cleaning techniques and safety procedures.
  • Maintain cleaning logs and assist in hiring/terminating.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Full Time Janitorial Supervisor/Cleaner to oversee the cleaning at one of our new office site. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all cleaning activities are performed in compliance with guidelines.

Hourly Rate: Starting at $23/hour, full benefits

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 12:00pm - 8:00pm (hours may change slightly)

Location: Nepean, Ottawa.

Job Description
How You’ll Make an Impact:
  • Supervise 4 other janitorial team members
  • Develop and maintain cleaning schedules/checklists and ensure that they are followed by the janitorial team
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to ensure that all areas are clean and well-maintained
  • Order and track cleaning supplies
  • Train janitorial staff in proper cleaning techniques and safety procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning logs
  • Assist in hiring/terminating
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks according to schedule
  • Cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, floors, offices, meeting rooms and washrooms
  • Vacuuming office space and furniture
  • Carries out waste collection and disposal in accordance with facility standards
  • The duties are split approximately 80% cleaning tasks and 20% supervisor/administrative tasks
  • Provide occasional coverage for mailroom clerk
  • Additional tasks/duties as required
Qualifications
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
  • Proficient in English, both reading and writing.
  • At least 3 years of experience in janitorial or custodial work, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with janitorial work.
