JOB PURPOSE: The Custodian maintains the cleanliness of the facility, property and/or grounds in compliance with applicable standards. The incumbent makes minor repairs and provides access to the facility as required.
The incumbent is responsible for the following range of job duties characteristic, or typical of the job class:

Minimum Education Level Attained: The successful job applicant will have completed high school.
NOTE: An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable.
Special Licenses, Diplomas, Certifications or Requirements: The successful applicant will hold/have: Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion (i.e., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check screening. **See Precautionary Measures**
Minimum Prior Related Experience: The incumbent must have the following experience before hire: More than three months but less than one year of prior related experience, including life skills and general familiarity with cleaning and maintenance procedures.
The performance of the job requires moderate to high attention when using motorized equipment, handling hazardous chemicals, and using non‑motorized/general cleaning equipment.
The incumbent is involved in minor financial matters regularly, or on a relief basis, or has responsibility for the wise use of his/her own resources. He/She may be authorized to spend, disburse, or collect small amounts of cash. The incumbent has very little input into the annual budget.

The target hiring range for this position is $17.85 to $18.76 with a maximum of $22.51. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
