Job description

If you’re an IT generalist who loves full autonomy, this role is for you! 🔧

Join a high-performing creative and digital production company as an IT Systems Specialist. You’ll be the go‑to expert in managing support, systems, networking, and security across the entire organization.

💻 Who You Are
  • A hands‑on IT generalist who thrives in an independent, ownership‑driven role
  • A proactive problem solver who doesn’t wait for direction — you take initiative!
  • Communicative, reliable, and confident working with stakeholders across all levels
  • Organized, documentation-focused, and committed to building stable, secure systems
📍 Work Type
  • Fully Onsite – 5 days a week in office
  • Location: Toronto, ON
  • Vacancy Type: This role reflects an existing vacancy
🎯 What You’ll Do
  • Serve as the primary IT owner for all infrastructure, systems, and end‑user support
  • Manage and support macOS, Windows, and Linux workstations and servers
  • Administer Windows Server, backend Linux systems, and hybrid Active Directory (On‑Prem AD + Entra ID)
  • Oversee Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams, Exchange Online), Entra ID, and identity/security management
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize UniFi, MikroTik, and pfSense networking equipment
  • Manage FreeNAS / Synology NAS platforms and storage environments
  • Implement cybersecurity controls, monitor threats, and handle incident response
  • Manage IT vendors, licensing, renewals, procurement, and asset inventory
  • Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, network improvements, and security enhancements
  • Build and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and IT policies
  • Provide remote support to global offices and ensure secure international operations
⭐ What We’re Looking For

5+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or infrastructure roles, including:

  • Strong expertise with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and identity governance
  • macOS and Windows administration
  • Experience with Windows Server and basic Linux server management
  • Networking knowledge: VLANs, routing, Wi‑Fi, UniFi, MikroTik
  • pfSense administration (rules, VPN, traffic shaping, security policies)
  • Cybersecurity best practices, monitoring, and incident handling
  • Strong documentation, change control, and asset management skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and make decisions independently in a sole‑IT environment
Nice‑to‑Haves
  • CompTIA A+ / Network+ / Security+
  • Microsoft 365, Azure, or Entra ID certifications
  • ITIL Foundation
  • CCNA or security‑related certifications
🔥 What Makes This Role Exciting
  • Full ownership of a high‑volume, creative production environment where you’ll solve real infrastructure challenges – from petabyte‑level storage to system optimization across macOS, Windows, and Linux.
  • A true builder’s role, where you can introduce new tools, improve automation, and shape how systems integrate with development teams, rather than just maintaining the status quo.
  • Autonomy and trust – the team values reliability, initiative, and systematic thinking, giving you the independence to manage priorities, anticipate risks, and drive improvements without micromanagement.
  • Base Salary: $90,000 - $100,000
  • Paid Time Off: 3 weeks’ vacation to maintain a healthy work‑life balance
  • Health Spending Account & Benefits Coverage: Flexible coverage to support your individual and family health needs
  • Culture & Team: Be a part of a supportive cross‑functional team, that thrives on collaboration and innovation, where every member’s ideas are valued and contribute to shared goals and success
