Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Support Technician to join our team at our plant in Port Colborne, Ontario. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Active Directory, Linux systems, and various types of networking equipment. You will be responsible for providing technical support for end users, assisting with the maintenance of infrastructure, and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support to end-users across multiple locations.
  • Administer and maintain Active Directory, including user account management, group policies, and domain services.
  • Assist in network infrastructure maintenance, upgrades and expansions.
  • Maintain documentation of systems, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Collaborate with other IT staff to resolve complex issues and implement new technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards.
  • Perform additional duties and projects assigned.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in IT support or systems administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Windows Server environments.
  • Proficiency in Linux (Debian, Ubuntu, FreeBSD).
  • Experience with Cisco networking equipment (CCNA certification is a plus).
  • Familiarity with network protocols, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills and a pro-active approach to resolving issues.
