A technology company based in Canada, Alberta is seeking an IT Administrator to oversee and maintain Windows Servers, manage Microsoft 365 services, and provide technical support. Candidates should have a degree in IT and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in networking and user support. This role offers the opportunity to manage telecommunication systems and ensure optimal network performance.
Oversee and maintain Windows Servers, DNS, DHCP, Virtual Machines (VM), Azure Servers, NAS, firewall, and network devices including network switches, wireless access points, PBX (VOIP), NVR, CCTVs, door access face recognition devices, and printers.
Collaborate with the Cyber‑Security Engineer to manage the company’s Bitdefender endpoint security and to perform regular backups of all servers, ensuring disaster recovery and business continuity.
Set up and configure telecommunication systems, including VoIP, telephones, video conferencing systems, and other communication platforms.
Assist in maintaining and optimizing network performance, including monitoring systems, responding to alerts, and resolving issues related to network speed, connectivity, and security.
Perform routine network diagnostics to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues affecting LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi, and other network infrastructures.
Ensure the proper configuration and operation of network devices, such as routers, firewalls, and switches.
Manage the Microsoft 365 Admin Center (Global Admin), including the company’s SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and other services within the admin center.
Commission or decommission corporate accounts for employee onboarding and offboarding via the domain server and Azure Active Directory.
Manage IT‑related purchases and maintain an up‑to‑date inventory of hardware and software assets.
Oversee the commissioning and decommissioning of IT assets for employees to ensure efficient resource management.
Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to resolve end‑user requests and queries related to various technology issues.
Offer support for end‑user devices such as laptops, desktops, and other company equipment.
Perform any other ad‑hoc duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor to support the overall IT operations of the company.
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of related working experience.
Experience with Networking, Network security, and User support.
Experience in Microsoft SQL databases.
Experience in Microsoft Office 365.
Good problem‑solving and analytical skills.
