Job summary

The Toronto-Dominion Bank (Canada) in Toronto, Ontario is seeking an IT/Applications Support professional to provide day-to-day application and system support. You will work with a team to resolve client issues, monitor performance, and analyze logs across Java APIs and cloud services.

Experience with UNIX/Linux, Azure, and monitoring tools is valued, along with strong communication and incident management skills. Shift-based schedule and onsite work four days per week are part of the role.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate.
  • Exposure to UNIX/Linux servers and ability to execute basic CLI commands.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog) and batch tools (CA7, Autosys).
  • Ability to read/understand support for Java-based APIs and perform real-time log analysis.
  • Foundational knowledge of Azure cloud services (App Services, ADF, ADLS, SQL).
  • Foundational knowledge of incident management practices and escalation processes.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and familiarity with ITIL/ServiceNow is a plus.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate Proficiency in Communication skills, should be able to effectively communicate production issues to different stakeholders, handling team meetings and write professional emails. Exposure to UNIX/Linux servers and the ability to execute basic command-line (CLI) commands for day-to-day tasks such as file navigation/management, directory structure, and permission management. Knowledge of application/server performance monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and Datadog, as well as batch monitoring tools such as CA7 and Autosys. Ability to read, understand, and support Java-based APIs, and perform real-time application log analysis. Basic knowledge of cloud-based platforms and services such as Azure App Services, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), and Azure SQL. Knowledge of automation tools, frameworks, and languages such as Python and JSON, plus a foundational understanding of AI concepts. Foundational knowledge of incident management practices such as production issue detection, prioritization, investigation, hierarchical escalation, and applying workarounds. Awareness of z/OS mainframe fundamentals, architecture & components and knowledge of mainframe languages and utilities such as COBOL, JCL, and DFSORT, as well as mainframe dataset structures and databases such as DB2 and IMS.

Good-to-Have Skills
  • Knowledge of SQL fundamentals and the ability to write basic read queries.
  • ITIL tools (e.g., ServiceNow).

Shift rotation: please note that this role requires work scheduled in shifts across 7 days/week and hours between 9 AM to 9 PM EST, 4 days per week are required onsite in office.
