Job description

Build it. Defend it. Improve it.

At Coulson Aviation, we don’t just fight fires—we protect lives, forests, and entire communities across the globe. From North America to Australia and South America, our fleet of large fixed-wing and rotary aircraft delivers rapid aerial fire suppression when it matters most.

We’re looking for an experienced IT Security Manager to own and elevate our security posture across identity, endpoints, cloud services, email, and threat detection. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who knows Microsoft security inside and out and wants to make a measurable impact.

You’ll design smart security controls, respond to real threats, and lead security improvements that protect our people, data, and technology.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Own the security strategy – develop and maintain security policies, standards, and frameworks aligned with business goals and industry best practices
  • Secure identity & access – lead Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Azure security with MFA, Conditional Access, PIM, and least‑privilege design
  • Protect endpoints & devices – manage Defender for Endpoint, Intune, encryption, compliance, and MDM across the organization
  • Detect and respond to threats – operate Microsoft Sentinel (analytics, incidents, KQL, automation) and lead incident response from triage to containment and reporting
  • Lock down email & collaboration – configure Defender for Office 365, anti‑phish controls, and SPF/DKIM/DMARC protections
  • Strengthen cloud security – drive improvements using Defender for Cloud recommendations, secure score, and vulnerability management
  • Lead risk & compliance efforts – conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and support compliance with standards like ISO 27001 and GDPR
  • Guide and grow others – provide technical leadership, mentoring, and training to security and IT team members
  • Continuously improve – document security controls, build runbooks, run tabletop exercises, and partner with stakeholders to reduce risk over time
What You Bring
  • 5+ years in IT security, security operations, or security engineering roles
  • Proven hands‑on experience with Microsoft security tools, including:
  • Entra ID (MFA, Conditional Access)
  • Defender for Endpoint & Defender for Office 365
  • Microsoft Sentinel and KQL
  • Defender for Cloud
  • Strong understanding of endpoint security, identity, cloud security, and incident response
  • Experience leading or mentoring technical professionals
  • Working knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR)
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Scripting or automation skills (Python an asset)
Why Join Us
  • Competitive compensation based on experience.
  • Inclusive, respectful culture that values diversity.
  • Comprehensive health & retirement benefits.
  • Matching pension plan to support your future.
  • A fast‑paced, rewarding environment where your work truly matters.
