TD Technology Solutions is seeking a Senior Network Operations Analyst in Mississauga, Ontario. The role focuses on senior level troubleshooting, incident response, and global service reliability within the L2/Tech Response team.

Office-based position requiring on-call duties, with a 37.5-hour work week. The team operates in a 24/7 shift-based environment to ensure continuous network service availability.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior level troubleshooting and on-call pager rotation to fix incidents.
  • Be part of L2/Tech Response team responsible for keeping critical network services up globally.
  • Collaborate with other teams to resolve escalated network incidents and prevent recurrence.
  • Lead and mentor junior staff in troubleshooting complex problems.

Job Description:

Department Overview:

This Senior Analyst role reports directly to the Sr. Manager of Network Operations. The position is expected to provide senior level troubleshooting expertise including on-call pager rotation duties, to help fix incidents and issues. The role belongs in the L2 support team which is accountable to help resolve critical/escalated network incidents.


Overall, the network operations department comprises of the L1/NOC (Network Operational Centre) team that operates on a 24/7 shift-based schedule, the L2 (Tech Response) team, the network Performance and Capacity (P&C) team an operational automation function as well.


The primary accountability of the L2/TR team is to keep the lights on for all critical network services on a global basis.


Job Requirements- Important Skills:

Differentiating skill set:


  • Adept at analyzing network traces to identify root cause quickly

  • An operations mind set is a must in order to be able to quickly identify and fix the issue and then tirelessly pursue fixing the root cause with other teams as necessary so that future incidents are avoided. This would result in better customer outcomes, which are critical for us to be a better bank

  • Supervisory as well as Sr. Consulting type skills are necessary for this role so queue management can be performed if and when needed, also to direct other colleagues towards resolution

  • Deep technical knowledge for platforms and the way applications interact with the network are a must. The technical skills need to be wide and deep

  • Knowledge of new areas like Cloud, SaaS, ACI, SDWAN, etc. are key in terms of knowing how to troubleshoot across network platforms, including wired and wireless, F5 load balancing and Palo Alto firewalls

  • Having CCIE , F5, Palo Alto, DC and SDWAN qualifications will be an definite plus


Other Key Skills:


  • Strong leadership skills in troubleshooting complex incidents in a time sensitive manner and articulate technical issues concisely to senior management.

  • Experience in using Automation as well as advanced network management tooling to help resolve incidents quickly and efficiently

  • Be dependable, innovative, accountable, passionate, transparent and collaborative

  • Strong knowledge of networking technologies and platforms including Cloud, SD-WAN, Wireless, Firewalls, Load Balancers, Routing and Switching, QoS, VoIP, Optical, Monitoring Tools, DHCP, DNS and CDN(content delivery), etc. New technologies like ACI and DNAC are a plus.

  • Soft skills – working with people and resolving conflicts.

  • 10+ years of solid hands-on relevant experience on Wired and Wireless technologies including Routing/Switching, Firewalls, Load Balancing, Cloud, SD-WAN, QoS, VoIP, Optical, DHCP, DNS, Monitoring Tools, CDN, etc.

  • Expert level trace analysis skills are a must

  • Experience supporting a large and complex network environment, preferably with adequate operational hands-on experience

  • Experience in exploring and implementing automation for Proactive monitoring and reducing incident resolution time.

  • Flexible with on call & rotation and shift timing

  • Adequate knowledge and experience to support platforms like

Well qualified with deep and wide skills in all major areas of technology that are important to us, e.g., Palo Alto Firewalls, F5 Load Balancers, SDWAN technologies Cisco/Aruba, SASE, Cloud, etc. and experience using latest tool sets including very deep Wireshark/Extrahop sniffing skills, etc.
