Job description

Our client is currently looking for an IT Manager/Team Lead to support their growing office in Georgetown, ON. The successful candidate will manage/administer/support the company’s various systems, including cloud-based systems, VOIP, Microsoft Navision (NAV), VPN, Exchange and a VMware environment. Other day-to-day duties will include: managing new hardware installations, software and operating systems at the local office, local management/support of existing hardware, software, servers, printers, workstations and phones, performance monitoring and tuning, troubleshooting, and retirement or upgrade of older hardware and software.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage server and workstation infrastructure in all locations
  • Working closely with internal partners to generate reporting templates
  • Manage the IT infrastructure, including firewalls, databases, VMware and other processes
  • Maintaining Exchange and Citrix based interfaces
  • Provide Navision (NAV) Support
  • Review current setups and ensure that each location is running current software
  • Ensure that all licensing requirements are met and maintained
  • Support/lead the IT team, end users and deal with issues as they arise
  • Purchase appropriate computer equipment in a cost effective manner
  • Maintain e-mail and SPAM Filtering systems
  • Install new wiring for phones and computer network as required
  • Coordinate disaster recovery plan with appropriate partners
  • All other duties as required

REQUIREMENTS

  • 6+ years of related lead/management experience
  • Hands-on experience providing support for Microsoft Navision (NAV)/Dynamics
  • Good understanding of VOIP telecommunication
  • Experience supporting/setting up VPN’s (virtual private networks)
  • Experience supporting Exchange Servers
  • VMware experience
  • Experience running SQL queries and reports
  • Cloud based computing experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
  • In-depth Knowledge of networking protocols and various software packages
  • Ability to multi-task various projects as required
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with various levels of employees and managers
  • Some infrequent travel to the US required

This is a contract position located in Georgetown, ON with potential conversion to FTE.
