Job summary

A technology solutions provider is seeking an IT Technical Support Specialist in Ottawa to provide exceptional technical support and manage help desk operations. This role requires excellent troubleshooting skills, customer service experience, and familiarity with technologies such as Active Directory and Microsoft 365. With 3+ years of relevant experience and strong communication abilities, you will contribute to a dynamic IT support team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a technical support or help desk role.
  • Relevant certifications like CompTIA A+, Microsoft, VMware are a plus.
  • Eligibility for top secret security clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Act as primary contact for Tier 1 technical support.
  • Manage the help desk ticketing system.
  • Support end-user hardware and software issues.
  • Provide onboarding and offboarding support.
  • Perform routine system maintenance and updates.
  • Administer user access in Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
  • Maintain support documentation and knowledge base.
  • Coordinate with senior IT staff to resolve escalated issues.
  • Assist with IT asset management.
  • Promote user education and continuous improvement.
