Job Description

The IT Business Analyst supports Business Applications project leads in planning, designing, developing, and launching efficient business systems that support core organizational functions and processes. This includes gathering and analysing data to support business cases, projects, and system requirements; generating and compiling reports; and applying communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills to maximise IT system investment benefits.

Responsibilities

• Health and Safety: maintain a safe and efficient working environment, follow health and safety standards, and report unsafe acts or conditions.
• Strategy and Planning: meet with decision makers to define requirements and resolve system issues; review the effectiveness of existing systems and develop improvement strategies; establish scope of systems analysis.
• Acquisition and Deployment: collaborate on planning, design, development, and deployment of new and enhancements of existing applications; conduct research on software and hardware; perform cost‑benefit and ROI analyses.
• Operations Management: prepare and deliver reports and recommendations; develop and configure reports; maintain BI solutions (Oracle BI, Power BI); ensure compatibility of systems; test and support new systems; provide user orientation and training; review query performance; follow change‑management processes; support project teams on implementation/upgrades.

Qualifications

Education

College diploma or university degree in business administration, computer science, or management information systems plus 3 years relevant experience.

Work Experience

3+ years’ experience in deployment and support of software system implementations in a global cloud, hosted, and on‑premise environment.

Knowledge Requirements

• Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI Publisher, OTBI reports and data model development.
• Oracle Fusion knowledge (technical, ERP, HCM) with basic functional knowledge of related modules.
• Experience with applications such as Oracle Fusion, Hyperion Financial Management, Oracle EPM, InEight Cloud, InEight Document, Intelex Safety.
• Proven experience overseeing design, development, implementation of software and hardware solutions.
• Practical knowledge in importing data for reporting software, spreadsheets, charts.
• Experience in database operation and analysis, data retrieval methodologies.
• Understanding of organizational goals and objectives.
• Adaptability to learn new technologies.
• Project management skills; Business Analysis and Project Management Fundamentals training or PMP designation an asset.
• Fluent English.
