Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced telecom/network design engineer to support the Inside Plant design team in Montreal. You will take assigned network jobs, complete design work, and create detailed engineering/job packets with equipment, connectivity, materials, and implementation instructions for execution.

The role requires 5+ years telecom/network design, Inside Plant ISP experience, fluent French, and strong knowledge of IP networking, routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, MPLS).

Qualifications

• 5+ years telecom/network design experience.
• Inside Plant (ISP) experience strongly preferred.
• French-speaking.
• Experience creating engineering packages, job packets, work orders, or implementation documentation.
• Strong IP networking / LAN-WAN knowledge.
• Experience with Cisco and/or Ciena equipment.
• Knowledge of DWDM/CWDM and optical transport.
• Understanding of routing/switching including BGP, OSPF, VLANs and MPLS.
• SAP experience, although they can train on their specific processes.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple design jobs.
• Nokia OLT / fiber-frame design
• DC power, grounding and redundancy experience
• 100G NNI / carrier peering
• NFV/VNF experience
