Job summary

Arnett & Burgess Energy Services, based in Calgary, AB, seeks a contract Business Analyst to bridge operational processes with ERP and data platforms. The role involves mapping how work happens, identifying automation opportunities, and aligning IT requirements with field operations.

The contractor will support data pipelines and system integrations, writing SQL as needed. This 6-month contract may transition to full-time based on performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a business analyst, systems analyst, or process improvement role.
• Working knowledge of SQL (querying, joins, basic data transformation).
• Experience with ERP systems (implementation, support, or super-user level).
• Exposure to field data capture / mobile data collection tools (construction, energy, or field services industry a plus).
• Familiarity with RPA or workflow automation concepts and tools (UiPath, Power Automate, or similar).
• Experience working in Databricks or similar cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Synapse) for data querying and transformation.
• Strong process-mapping skills (BPMN, flowcharting, or similar).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to translate between technical and operational stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in a contract capacity with the flexibility and initiative that entails

Our Commercial and IT group is currently looking to add a contract Business Analyst, based in Calgary, AB

Reporting to the Director, Commercial and IT, we are seeking a dedicated professional with knowledge and experience to bridge operational process design with the technology that supports it. This role sits at the intersection of field operations, ERP systems, and process automation — mapping how work actually happens on the ground and identifying where technology (RPA, workflow tools, integrations) can remove friction, reduce manual effort, and improve data quality.

Please Note: this is a contract position for a term of 6-months to start with the potential to transition to full-time based on performance and business need.
