Job summary

A leading equipment manufacturer in Canada is seeking an Iron Technician I to assist in the assembly and testing of mechanical components. The role requires 1-3 months of related experience and offers a starting pay of $24.35 per hour, with responsibilities including cleaning components, preparing products for inspections, and maintaining shop tools. Ideal candidates will have training in NDT and pressure testing.

Job Summary

The Iron Technician I provides assembly and testing of various mechanical components.

Additional Information
  • Relocation assistance is NOT available for this position.
  • Starting Pay: $24.35, additional based on experience
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Overtime based on business need
What you will do
  • Assists Iron Technicians during the disassemble phase
  • Clean, strip and inspect all required flow control components
  • Prepare flow control products for Gauging, Ultra Sonic, and MPI inspections
  • Ability to demonstrate the disassemble of flow control products per Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
  • Ability to identify SPM and Customer product
  • Ability to assemble flow control product
  • Nondestructive Testing Trainee (NDT Trainee)
  • Manifold tear down/rebuild trainee
  • Demonstrates computer skills for the SPM AMP System
  • Inventory Incoming Iron
  • Provides proper care and maintenance of all shop tools, equipment, and work area
  • Monitors daily work activities to ensure requirements are met
  • Performs other routine duties as assigned
What you will have
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Top Candidates will have
  • NDT Training
  • Pressure testing experience
Additional Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have a clean driving record, which generally means: No more than (2) moving violations within the last 12 months. No more than three (3) moving violations in the past three (3) years.
Summary Pay Range

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
