Job summary

IPS is seeking a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) for Edmonton, AB. The role involves providing accessible, integrated patient care across various projects with long-term and short-term opportunities.

Shifts include days, nights, and weekends, with 10–12 hour days and a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation in some assignments. We require current PCP registration with ACoP, H2S Alive, Safety Orientation, a valid Class 5 license, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted PCP registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACoP).
  • H2S Alive certification.
  • Common Safety Orientation completed.
  • Valid, unrestricted Class 5 Driver's License (Learner/Graduated Licenses not accepted).
  • Current Driver's Abstract, clean record.
  • Previous Industrial or Oil & Gas medic experience is an asset.
  • Physically able to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accessible, responsive, integrated patient care.
  • Perform assessments and address injuries; determine treatment within scope.
  • Communicate status and next steps of the injured worker to emergency services.
  • Ensure reporting and communications are compliant for incidents, injuries and treatment.
  • Maintain confidential patient medical records per governing body requirements.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.

DXP | IPS is seeking skilled medics to be apart of our team for various projects this upcoming season, Join us today!

We have long-term and short-term projects, we also offer individuals the ability to take on small, local work.

  • Ability to choose long-term and short-term projects.
  • Small, local work opportunities for individuals.
  • 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off rotation.
  • 32-hour deployment for wildfire response.
  • Shifts include days, nights, and weekends.
  • Work hours typically range from 10 to 12 hours per day.

Position Review & Responsibilities:

  • Providing accessible responsive and integrated patient care.
  • Performs assessments and attends to patient's injuries; determine a course of treatment within scope of practice.
  • Effectively communicate status and next steps of the injured worker to emergency services
  • Ensure all reporting and communication requirements are adhered to regarding incidents, injuries, and treatment.
  • Maintain confidential patient medical documentation and reports as per governing body requirements.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Must Have Requirements
  • Current (unrestricted) registration as a PCP with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACoP).
  • H2S Alive.
  • Common Safety Orientation.
  • Valid, unrestricted Class 5 Driver's License (Please note, a valid license does not include a Learner's Permit or Graduated License).
  • Current and Clean Driver's Abstract.
  • Previous experience in the Industrial or Oil & Gas sector as a medic is considered an asset.
  • Physically capable of working in adverse weather environment and conditions.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol screen.
