Job summary

Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan is seeking an investment intern to join our private equity team. You’ll learn how we evaluate opportunities, manage investments, and support portfolio companies in infrastructure and natural resources sectors.

The role emphasizes financial modelling, identifying value drivers, and preparing materials for senior professionals. You’ll gain exposure to a globally diversified C$50B investment portfolio with a strong emphasis on collaboration and learning.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree with a concentration in investments, finance, or accounting.
• Previous intern experience in M&A, investment banking, private equity, consulting, or equity research with specific infrastructure or natural resources exposure.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Excellent analytical and quantitative abilities and ability to perform in-depth analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be enrolled in 3rd/4th year or related Master’s program and in a co-op or returning-to-studies workflow.

Responsibilities

• Hone financial modelling abilities by analyzing investment opportunities.
• Identify key value drivers and risks and perform sensitivity and scenario analyses.
• Support due diligence exercises.
• Prepare valuations, presentations, and reports to senior investment professionals.
• Develop and analyze business cases for portfolio company value creation initiatives.
