The Investment Specialist I seeks to manage and grow the assigned wealth management portfolio by providing exceptional service to both existing and potential members through the sale of mutual fund products and basic planning services. The primary focus of this role is on serving the needs of investors with basic investment and planning needs while referring larger investment accounts to the Wealth Advisor.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Proactively work to retain and expand existing member relationships whilepursuingnew sources of business.
Providebasicfinancialand investmentsolutionsto new and existing Credit Union members.
Operate as the primary contact for assigned members, managing the relationship on behalf of the credit union to ensureallmembers’ needs are met
Identifyholisticmember needs/goals andreferidentifiednon-mutual fundsales and service opportunities to the appropriate Credit Unionexperts.
Provide members withbasic planningstrategies, including butnot limited to retirement, education, asset allocation and risk management.
Work in close collaboration with the consumer branch network toestablishtrusted internal relationshipstofoster a steadystream of referrals
Activelytake partin meetings, planning and training initiatives, sharing information and ideas to buildorganizationalachievementand success.
Build the Credit Union’s profile in the community as a professional provider of wealth managementproducts,services,andexpertise.
Maintain thorough knowledge of and adhere to credit union policies and procedures on risk management, confidentiality,security,and fraud prevention.
Maintain thorough knowledge of and adhere to Credential Asset Management policies and procedures as outlined in the CAM compliance manual.
Essential Qualifications
ValidInvestment Funds in Canada (IFC) or Canadian Securities Course (CSC)
Newly licensed with financial services experienced
Must be able tolicensein good standing
Stronginterpersonal and communication skills,both verbal and written
Ability to motivate others and work withina dedicated teamenvironment
Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform well under pressure
Ability to prioritize using sound judgement to make timely and effective decisions
Thorough understanding of a variety of investment products and services including mutual funds, term deposits, and registered investment products
Basic understanding of financial planning concepts
Abilityto follow standardized policies and procedures
Knowledge of risk management within the financial industry
Proficient computer skills
