Job Description

We are seeking a strategic and experienced leader to oversee the management of our Participating Whole Life (PWL) insurance product line. The Director, PWL Product Management will drive product strategy, ensure profitability, and maintain long‑term sustainability of the participating account.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the PWL Governance Committee consisting of key cross‑functional stakeholders to monitor product performance, oversee dividend processes, and ensure compliance with regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with actuarial teams on dividend‑scale management, surplus policy monitoring, and participating account management.
  • Set and execute the strategic direction for the Participating Whole Life product portfolio to achieve profitability objectives, and conduct performance analyses on a needed basis.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day product management activities, including understanding key financial drivers, monitoring performance against KPI, and coordinating with stakeholders to address concerns.
  • Accountable for product‑related reporting and risk assessment to ensure legal, regulatory, and compliance adherence.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners across product development, pricing, sales, marketing, IT, and digital teams.
  • Lead and mentor a team of product managers and analysts, fostering a high‑performance, collaborative culture and promoting data‑driven decision making.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in life‑insurance product management, actuarial work, or related roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Business, or a related field; MBA or FSA designation preferred.
  • Strong understanding of actuarial concepts, participating product mechanics, and dividend‑scale management.
  • Proven success in profitability management for participating or permanent life products.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing complex product portfolios and cross‑functional teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Strategic thinker with strong financial acumen and decision‑making skills.
