Salary Range (plus eligible to receive a performance based incentive, applicable to position) :

$105,145 - $142,255 Investment experience and business acumen rewarded

Play a strategic role in high-impact investments with an organization dedicated to Canadian agriculture and food.

Using your financial analysis and communication skills, you’ll help create a high-quality portfolio of businesses and funds across the entire agriculture and food industry. You’ll be involved in both fund and direct investments, with the opportunity to progress towards an investment director position – all while working for a mission-driven organization dedicated to improving the sustainability and productivity of Canada’s economy.

What you’ll do:
  • Perform preliminary analysis of investment opportunities, meet with prospective partners and industry experts, and prepare summary reports
  • Perform due diligence of potential investments and identify key investment merits and risks
  • Meet with management teams, review documentation and work in conjunction with partners and third-party consultants
  • Prepare investment recommendation memorandums for investment approval
  • Participate in presentations to various committees as required
  • Represent FCC Capital in active networking and conferences
  • Attend conferences, organize meetings and keep up to date on industry trends
  • Monitor financial and operating results
  • Supervise, coach and manage junior analysts’ work

What you’ll need:
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, business or commerce and at least five years of related leadership experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • A professional designation (or enrolment to obtain) CPA, CFA, CAIIA or MBA
  • Strong financial analysis capabilities, including performing sensitivity analyses, review of financial projections and valuation assumptions
  • Strong knowledge of venture/growth capital investments and fund design
  • Strong understanding of investment performance and policies
  • Understanding of Canadian agriculture and agri‑food or venture capital and related regulations and best practices
