The final compensation for this position will be determined based on individual factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and internal equity. This position may be eligible to receive a Northern Living allowance.
Northern Living allowances are provided based on the location of the position and where an employee primarily works and resides.
The Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) is seeking an Investigator to join the Major Investigations team. We are looking for someone who is skilled in planning, evidence gathering, and briefing to complete complex investigations relating to Alberta’ energy development. At the AER, our investigators are responsible for investigating breaches of energy and environmental legislation to uphold the enforcement backstop. This team is responsible for telling the full story to allow for fair and unbiased decision making. Working in this dynamic field requires well-developed problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically. Clear, concise communication in presentations and in written reports is an important skill. The successful candidate must be able to adapt to change quickly and assess for new challenges and opportunities. Our success is due to the varied experiences and backgrounds of our team members. Our new investigator will have experience in investigating complex, time sensitive, and consequential contraventions.
